It was 2009, and Frictional Games were in crisis. We probably ran out of money, and we ran out of money. We had many ideas for new programs and puzzles, but they weren't working. Rash decisions had to be made.

"Screw new! Let's just make the most awesome game we can do."

With this, Amnesia: Black Birth was born. And it took more than our bad dreams. The game became an intimidating voice for the narrative, and it remains a fantasy of Let & # 39; s Plays and Dreams coming out today.

Now, ten years later, we want to get back to those roots. We want you to feel excited, excited, and scared about the vibrant world of Amnesia in a new story.

I am proud to be able to finally show up:

Amnesia: Rebirth

What is Amnesia: Rebirth? New protagonist, new setting, new story, but built on what we learned in the first game. No makeup. There is no inventing something completely new. This is Amnesia.

That doesn't mean we just do the same – shockingly, repetition is a deadly sin. You need to keep players on their toes at all times. We need to distort expectations, add old features, and up the ante to everything you've seen in us.

As you would expect from a screening game, we're not just looking for an attraction for festival jumpscares. Amnesia: The reincarnation of an emotionally charged journey – something different, something less imaginative. It will test you in ways you have never heard before, and it will help you think about things that really scare you.

When Amnesia: The Dark Appearance came out, we liked hearing the player's response saying that people wouldn't be able to enter the game because they were too scared to continue. However, these days, simple fears are not enough. We want to take you beyond the shock and get out the other side – and see if you'll stand the weight of what we've given you.

Amnesia: Rebirth will be available later this year. Let's see if you can cope.
