The fourth episode of ‘Loki’ continues to spin in our heads, especially because of the relationship that seems to be forming between the God of Mischief and his female version, Lady Loki, aka, Sylvie. However, new theories claim that their “magic touch” on Lamentis-1 was not what caused the “nexus event,” so the duo might not actually be as dangerous to TVA as some believe.
A bit of context. Since the third episode of the Disney Plus series, Sylvie and Loki were trapped on the moon of Lamentis-1, during an apocalyptic event that would not leave a single person alive.
Although they tried to save themselves, before their imminent death, the couple connected in a very special way, so much so that it seemed that their possible love relationship would be chaos for the Sacred Timeline, so the TVA rescued them to capture them and deliver them to the “Guardians of Time.”
For those who saw the recent episode, they will know by now why we doubt the supposed Guardians of Time, for those who have not caught up, calm down, we will try to be as “revealing” as possible.
What makes a Loki Loki?
The magic of the episode editing led us to believe that the touch between Sylvie and Loki was what caused the “nexus event” that led to the TVA getting the Variants who were hiding in an apocalypse. Even Mobius himself confirms this when he states that there is nothing more chaotic than a relationship formed by two “forms” of the same being, especially if it resembles Thor’s brother. “That could break reality,” he said.
However, new theories claim that the fact that Loki or Sylvie touched was not what triggered the “nexus event”, but what this means. If you paid enough attention to the first three episodes of the series, surely you realized that this pair shared something more than their powers, and origins: loneliness.
Sylvie repeatedly commented that she had to “grow up” alone, and in the fourth episode she reaffirmed it. She was a girl who, because of the TVA, had to grow up hidden in constant apocalypse, so she has seen more end of the world than anyone at her age has experienced.
If we evaluate Loki, it is evident that the God of Mischief has always “boasted” of power alone, of not needing a team, but, the truth, with his constant misdeeds, he was looking for what we all want: company and a home. Even Lady Sif herself repeated it to him while he was in the terrible temporary prison in which he was locked: “I hope you know that you deserve to be alone and you always will be.”
What makes “a” Loki, “a” Loki, is that they are always alone. For the same reason, when Sylvie and Loki met, and connected, the latter gave himself the opportunity to rethink his existence, which definitely ruins the plans of the presumed Guardians of Time (or whoever they are), since in these, the son Odin’s has to be a villain, nothing more.
Now, understanding what it is that really threatens the purpose of the TVA leaves us wondering who are the true villains of the universe: the Lokis who have just been forced to be something that perhaps they don’t want to be? Or the TVA and the Guardians of Time who dictate the fate of people left and right?
