Throughout this afternoon, news about Assassin’s Creed Infinity circled the world. And this is not surprising since the Bloomberg media surprised us with a full article detailing what we could see in this new opus which, as we had foreseen, will completely change the style of the IP. At least, this was confirmed by Ubisoft itself, which was quick to point out that Assassin’s Creed Infinity is a reality, although at the moment it’s nothing more than a code name.
This is a joint project between the Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec teams, who seek to take the saga a new step, a new experience to offer to players. Although they have not yet wanted to go into the subject in depth, they speak of it as a project in constant updating, despite the fact that avoid the direct mention of “game as a service”.
A license that is always looking to evolve
One of the points discussed was that it was precisely the idea that the game should follow in the footsteps of other works like Fortnite or GTA Online. However, the company did not want to directly address this mention in its blog post. In fact, they preferred to talk about it because, during the pandemic, they thought about their way of working and producing the games.
It changed their focus a bit, looking for evolution and growth on an incredible journey. They claim that already they are not that interested in passing the baton, but always look for that common approach. Therefore, it would not be unreasonable to think that, as Scheier pointed out, this is a game as a service that features different historical periods instead of concentrating all of its action and history into one.
At the moment, there isn’t much information on this, let alone there seems to be any intention to confirm an upcoming release date. Apparently, it will be a project to relax, in which to progress little by little, so it seems that we will have time with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
