Koei Tecmo Games continues its unique interpretation of the time of the warring countries (also known as the Sengoku period) in Japan with the release of Nioh 2 last week.

The Protagonist

Kodamas are small green tree spirits that combine the souls of man-made everyday objects. You will find Kodama scattered across the country among the forest trees. Some of it is lost, though – helping these lost Kodama people find their way back to their temples and regain power in their blessings later in the game.
Sudama
Sudamas are a corrupted form of Kodama. Despite their corrupt nature, they do not have a vicious tendency to wander, nor will they be invaded. Yet, they are materialistic creatures. Give Sudama a small gift of his will and you may be rewarded with something rare in return. Don't give them salt though – they'll be upset!
Scampuss
A ball shaped cat Yokai. Take a look at Scampuss and let it stick to you. Soon enough, you'll find them following you closely. These creatures help you recover your Anima, and sometimes they will help you in the fight. In the Dark Realm, Scampuss swells in a blowfish-like atmosphere, perhaps a measure of protection from nearby enemies.
