Warner Bros. MontreaHe has communicated via Twitter that Gotham Knights will suffer a delay of at least one year “in order to offer the best experience to the fans.” At this point it was to be expected that this game, and so many others, will suffer delays due to the quarantine continuing in many parts of the world.
Warner did not blame the delay on the pandemic, but it is clear that things have been complicated for the game to be delayed for an entire year. Gotham Knights was revealed at the DC Showcase in August 2020 alongside Kill The Justice League, another game from the Batman universe that was scheduled for 2022.
One more delay
In this title we control Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood or Nighwing in a cooperative dynamic with levels, RPG elements and leveling that will remind you of other cooperative games or directly to Marvel’s Avengers. The studio may have seen how badly the Marvel title is doing and decided to make adjustments.

And, as far as it has been seen, both games have a lot of similarities in playability. Obviously, more details are lacking to make a real comparison, but it is clear that both DC and Marvel have wanted to bet on cooperative online games that work as a service.
In any case, Warner Montreal has requested one more year from fans who, after the experience of Cyberpunk 2077, have not stopped remembering it in the responses to the tweet. We will have to wait to see if this delay is good for the game or if they will even need more.
Warner Bros. Montreal already has a game from the universe called Batman: Arkham Origins that received good reviews, so there is high hope in the studio with this new cooperative title in which Batman will not be present.
