When Activision announced that it would launch a title within the battle royale genre for Call of Duty, fans were delighted. ‘COD: Warzone’ did not disappoint and became a title with millions of players around the world and that has generated many profits for its creators.
Now we know that a player found an emblem that generated a lot of controversy within the user community. It is an emblem that is very similar to the logo of the Azov Battalion, a regiment of the Ukrainian National Guard that has neo-Nazi members.
The emblem is part of the chimera pack and was reported by a Reddit user. This emblem has the colors reversed, yellow on purple, but outside of this element they are identical. This battalion was founded in 2014 and has generated much controversy due to the statements of its members who admit to being neo-Nazis and agreeing with the behavior of the Nazis in the framework of World War II.
A problem for Activision
Similarly, the battalion openly uses Nazi symbols and was accused a few years ago of committing abuses against civilian groups, which is why countries like the United States have identified them as dangerous groups. At the moment neither Activision nor Raven Software have expressed their opinion on the matter, but it is likely that the emblem will be removed in the next patch to avoid controversy with a subject as sensitive as Nazism.
The truth is that this type of event does not go unnoticed by a community of millions of users who enjoy the game around the world. This title has generated millionaire profits for its developers and is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
Note to devs, this insignia is used by a Neo-Nazi battalion in Ukraine from CODWarzone
