Rebirth Island has just arrived in Warzone, but rumors are already circulating that we might see a new map by 2021. Here’s everything we know about the possible location of the new map.
Warzone has undoubtedly become one of the most popular Call of Duty titles of all time, so it’s no surprise that players are always eager for new content in the game.
With some stating that they are bored with Verdansk, Rebirth Island was added to the game in early December, bringing in some new modes to refresh the title and add some high-voltage gameplay compared to the regular, much slower Battle Royale mode.
Still, Rebirth Island is not for everyone, and many are still calling for a new map to be added to play Battle Royale in addition to Verdansk, with rumors suggesting that we might see Ural mountains from Black Ops Cold War fill that space.
The loudest rumors about a new Warzone map revolve around one thing: Black Ops Cold War’s Fireteam: Dirty Bomb mode.
Currently, there are two maps for this 40-player mode called Alpine and Ruka, both located in the Ural Mountains of Russia. What makes players believe that these could be used in Warzone is the fact that in the game code, both names begin with the letters “wz”.
With the maps already larger than the normal 6v6 maps, it would make sense to put them together to create a larger map for Warzone, whereas Fireteam already uses many of the Warzone mechanics anyway. With the weapons from Black Ops Cold War already taking center stage in Warzone after season 1, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the game’s feature maps as well.
Possible launch date of the Ural Mountains
As for when we can see it, of course, there is no official word. However, many of the rumors suggest a launch in March 2021, which would coincide with the first anniversary of Warzone.
The wait may be due to Treyarch releasing more multiplayer maps that are part of the new map, but that remains to be seen.
As for Verdansk, it is also uncertain whether he will remain in the game. Some battle royales like PUBG have a rotation of maps that players can choose from, while others like Fortnite prefer to continue playing on a single island.
