When Nioh first launched in 2017, its unique view of feudal Japan and the terrifying inhabitants of yokai made it a highlight of the ongoing selection of topics in the genre of masocore. The ranking system was unforgiving but very satisfying, confirming that git calls were the same for the entire gaming world than before.
After three years, as well as a follow-up to the samurai adventure, the stance system stays in the heart of Nioh 2. But in this case, Team Ninja has given players new Yokai Ability in their battle against the demons roaming Sengoku-era Japan. This means that while all those hours into the first game will put you in a better position for the struggle ahead, there are many new challenges and skills to overcome if you are to overcome them.
With the arrival of a good trailer to launch again in less than two days of play, we've put together some tips to help you apply your new skills and survive a few hours in Nioh 2, whether you're a veteran veteran or a newcomer to the series:
1. Choose weapons that fit your style
Nioh 2 offers a wealth of weapons to choose from, with your character carrying two from the get go. Favorites from the original game and their DLCs are coming back, but it is with the new double and changeable crafts that many players will be willing to try.
Hatchets allow quick cracking on your enemies, and holding a triangle allows you to drop one of the spots toward the distant enemy. Hatchets are weak, but their lightning-quick attack makes them a good choice for speed-loving players over the brute Force.
The switchglaive, meanwhile, offers three very different styles depending on your situation. Hold the blade in a low position and it can be used extensively as a blade, fastening the blade. Mid stance turns it into a spear-like weapon, with a central access that allows you to constantly attack the yokai in the bay. Switch to a higher level to turn the stain into deadly scales, rotate around you and hit your opponents with incredible power.
Pro Tip: Choosing a combo of weapons that offers different combat modes is a good place to start. One heavy hitter along the fast side is recommended for the newcomers in the series.
2. The key
Your strength, though Ch as it is known, it is just as important as measuring your life in Nioh 2. Every time you dash, slashing and disarming will destroy you and if you find yourself outside of Ki, you will not be able to attack or avoid the incoming blade. The result is often fatal.
While Ki will recover over time, Ki Pulse is your secret to success. After each attack, a blue light surrounds your character. A well-written R1 pump when this one comes out will build the Ki Pulse, making your power jump even higher. Learning how to do this is the key to survival as it allows you to get into a long-term attack.
Pro Tip: Running Water: Heaven is a Samurai ability that allows you to break away from the enemy and make a Ki Pulse at the same time. It is a game-changing character and is a skill that you should aim to unlock as soon as possible.
3. Know your status
Nioh fights against three different levels – high, medium and low – which means you can use each of your weapons in three ways with a R1 + Triangle, Square or X pump. To find out the difference between these it is important to establish yourself as a true koi slayer.
- Low status: Holding your blade down allows for faster attacks, this helps in sliding and yokai
- General condition: Threatening toward your enemy's body allows for an attack on the central force. Excellent round and good condition for running multiple skirmish
- High status: Blasting your weapon down from above, high standing allows for a compelling attack that is useful for the Ki's elimination of your opponents. But be warned; you miss some of these attacks, and you come out into the open at the sharp end of your enemy's range
Pro Tip: With some practice, you will learn how to turn a mid-range battle, allowing you to perform a Ki Pulse at the same time and giving you the chance of continuous rain attacking your opponent with deadly consequences.
4. Discover your Yokai skills
Yokai's power is new to Nioh 2, thanks to the protagonist of the half-human yokai, and provides a new opportunity in battle.
At the beginning of the game, you'll be introduced to Burst Counter, activated by pressing R2 + Circle. The Counter briefly uses your yokai form and sends you with an attack on your enemy, leaving you trapped behind, if you are attacked by an oncoming attack, severely damaging your health opponents and ki. Time is all about the Counter, but do it right and you'll be rewarded well.
Additional yokai power can be gained by getting Soul Cores during your journey.
Pro Tip: Take a look at the red flash around your enemy. This is your signal to activate the Counter and deal with some health damage and ki damage.
5. You steal your enemies skills through Soul Cores
Soul Cores is new and brought down by the most powerful yokai you encounter. Once integrated into the Shrine, the Cores give you the ability to use some of the advanced yokai skills you've been sharing. The first one you will encounter is taken from a large Enki-like ink and softened by the ability to jump in the air and drop the spear down your enemies, severe damage and often changing the course of battle.
Given the R2 + Triangle or Square, you can offer two of these abilities at a time alongside your Burst Counter.
Pro Tip: Your yokai abilities are locked to your Anima Gauge, a new gauge that looks like a purple bar under your Ki. This can also be restored by defeating enemies and acquiring other Soul Cores.
6. Learn how to use Yokai Shift
When your Amrita Gauge is full, the power to activate the Yokai Shift is turned on. Press the Triangle + Circle buttons together to complete complete metamorphosis from samurai to yokai. While in this form, you are more likely to be attacked and your ability to attack is increased. In the first hours of the game, there are three different options you can take, based on which Guardian Ghost you choose. This allows for different abilities, so choose wisely based on the enemies you will face:
- Brute: armed with heavy weapons and repulsive power, the Brute yokai form removes destructive attacks from nearby areas
- False: fast and dangerous, Feral yokai can prevent enemy attacks while quickly assembling combos
- Phantom: The Phantom Yokai maintains its range, introducing the enemy's eyeballs before heading into imminent attack
Pro Tip: Having trouble taking down a difficult enemy? Return to the Shrine to modify your Ghost Guardian and try a different approach to your Yokai form.
7. Ask for help out there beyond the grave
The world of Nioh 2 is carrying the souls of fallen soldiers, depicted as Bloody Graves Red and Blue Benevolent Graves. Activating the Dark Grave raises the samurai from the ground to move upwards, with the opportunity to gain a powerful spoil if you defeat it, but it won't be an easy battle.
The beautiful cemetery, new to Nioh 2, allows you to call the support of a fallen actor starter, who will appear as an NPC and fight alongside you until your mission is completed, or they are defeated. You need Ochoko's cups to call the helpers, who can be found by winning souls at the Graves Graves.
Pro Tip: The Right Jasper is a new one that can be held in Nioh 2 which when used creates a Fun Grave where you stand. This may be used by other players to call your specter for support.
8. Check out the Dark Realm
In Nioh 2, powerful yokai have the ability to pull you into The Dark Realm. There, your ki will fight to recover and yokai to become more powerful. You will find chests locked and dirty unused, making it dangerous even for the most experienced hero.
To escape the Dark Realm, you'll need to find the yokai that dragged you. While it can be lowered easily, if defeated, it will reduce the working load, and the breasts and grooves open.
Pro Tip: Yokai has great potential in the Dark Realm, but since the mover is half a yokai, it might be a great place to test your new yokai skills…
9. Find inner peace in Shrines
Shrines that you will find scattered throughout Nioh 2 offer a short break from the challenges of your trip. Pray for them to rebuild your life, take your belongings and work as a breathing room in case you fail … But be warned, and your departed enemies will be awakened as well.
The rays allow you to use the amrita to measure your character and seek blessings from your beautiful green Codeama that you'll find hidden in every level. Give Ochoko a cup and you can also call another player to help you in your quest.
Pro Tip: Matches appear as green dots on your map. You will know that you are nearby when you hear the outcry paid by Kodama.
While many of Nioh 2's greatest challenges are yet to come before you, with these tips, you're in for a better chance of surviving during the first hours of Teamurai Ninja & # 39; s epic. The excitement of taking on the big boss of the boss is one of the most satisfying of the game, but you'll have to upgrade your skills if you're going to face the deadliest opponents of Nioh 2 when it launches on March 13.
Good luck, samurai.
