Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most controversial games in the entire recent history of the video game industry. The title of CD Projekt Red promised to be one of the jewels of the industry and that it would mark a before and after saying goodbye to the last generation of consoles and welcoming the new consoles.
Unfortunately, its launch was bumpy on PS4 and Xbox One, the versions of these game consoles came with many problems that made it more than difficult to enjoy the game without suffering from the presence of much more serious bugs or errors that generated than the game simply it was impossible.
Errors ranging from losing all trailers due to having a certain number of cosmetic items in the game to minor bugs led to Sony’s decision to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store late last year. Today, May 26, 2021, users are still unable to buy the digital version of Cyberpunk 2077 through the PlayStation Store, so we wonder when will Cyberpunk 2077 return to the PlayStation Store?
Now we know that the managers of CD Projekt Red themselves do not know very well when this return of Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store will happen. The information was revealed in a shareholders meeting from the Polish studio:
“Unfortunately, I have no new information on this. We are still in discussions and with each patch the game improves and there is visible progress, but as we said, the decision falls into the hands of Sony ”.
This means that Sony probably wants Cyberpunk 2077 to return when it does not present any type of problems that cause users to demand new returns, which is always a problem for Sony.
Remember that when the title went on sale thousands of users asked for their money back. To date, CD Projekt Red has returned more than 30,000 copies of the game since its release in December 2020.
A long list of half-baked updates
The first patch that Cyberpunk 2077 received arrived on the day of its launch and weighed about 43 GB. This patch sought to improve many bugs reported by the specialized press that had access to the game, but unfortunately none of this worked and the game was riddled with errors for PS4 and Xbox One.
Patch 1.11 later arrived in January and brought some improvements to quest problems like Takemura’s. Also improved items in the Down on the Street mission and minor bugs. This update also did not improve the user experience much and the most recent patch for the game arrived in April and corrected many of the bugs from the previous patch that were reported by users as the Johnny Silverhand look.
Unfortunately this does not seem to be enough and many users report that the game has improved, but it gives the impression that at any moment it may present a bug or other type of problem. This is something that Sony seems to share, so the company has not yet given the go-ahead for the return of Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store, so it is not possible to predict when this controversial game will return to the Sony digital store.
