In the previous story line, players find ancient powers, ancient ones that roam the Atlas of Worlds, follow it to the center of the Atlas, and, if they are skilled enough, conquer it, they break it. But what if another group of expelled people could not get rid of the Old Atlas? What if these exiles threaten your world?
And, most importantly, how on earth do we make this canon? The first idea of this news story was to try to work out the behavior of players themselves on the news page. Which is to say, if the big, bad content of the current Endgame (Elder) content is defeated, the players will just … play it. There are only so many times when you can run the Shore map before you lose your mind.
In defeating Atlas, you will find out what the effects of prolonged exposure to humiliation, in the twisted world of Atlas can do to the unwary, and will create a final defense against new enemies.
Introduced by a very difficult executive meeting, Atlas of the "Starstones" allowed to reveal hidden maps and control the difficulty of the maps you cast, as well as dozens of new rewards, Exile players, here it is at least an hour of confusion for returning players who did not pay attention to the announcement.
Included in this expansion are new financial resources and powerful new ways to expand your equipment, opening up a new layer of new character.
All of this comes alongside the Metamorph Challenge League. In the Metamorph Challenge League, you can take samples from any monster in Path of Exile and combine them into a huge powerful enemy, capable of manipulating the abilities of monsters using your samples. That's right – you can build your own boss! The boss who creates form shifts between all the monsters in the sample, performs a dynamic fight in both game and visual. And if players die because the boss is so difficult, they should be sorry for themselves! The rating group is finally inactive. I'm joking! The rating team never ends in a hurdle.
Once you get to Atlas (and start exploring the major changes), you'll be able to take samples from powerful mapmakers. The stronger the enemies you create, the more reward you will receive. If you're lucky, you'll also find Catalysts, a new type of currency that extends certain structures to your rings, amulet and belt.
