The Xiaomi car changed everything. The effect of the SU7 launch is already being felt in the automotive industry; Tesla has had to lower its prices to compete on a level playing field, and many brands have already announced they are preparing alternatives to match.
The case of Huawei cars is curious, because the brand arrived before Xiaomi in the automotive sector; but he did it differently. Instead of investing billions in a project that could fail, Huawei preferred to ally with already established manufacturers to implement your HarmonyOS platform.
The great advantage of this method, in addition to the large number and variety of vehicles that already have HarmonyOS, lies in the responsiveness. And if the Xiaomi SU7, an electric sedan full of technology, suddenly becomes a success, Huawei will be able to react with its allies and launch all the same.
This is how the Deepal L07, a new electric sedan that focuses on new technologies. Deepal is a brand created jointly by the Chinese manufacturer Changan and Huawei, for the development of electric vehicles; So far, it has launched several SUVs and sedans, but the L07 is the most modern and exotic one yet. This is immediately noticeable in the design, with futuristic details that follow the latest trends, such as the taillight bar that integrates with the taillights. Like the SU7, it also supports an electrically activated rear spoiler at high speeds.
The Deepal L07 should represent what is possible with HarmonyOS, with the connection with “smart technologies” on the Huawei platform; It will therefore be possible to connect the mobile phone, in addition to controlling home devices directly from the car’s touch screen. All the possibilities and novelties that it will bring have not yet been revealed, since for the moment Deepal has only shown the first official images of the car and some technical details.

Concretely, we know that the Deepal L07 will be available in two versions: a hybrid and another 100% electric. The latter will be based on a 185 kW electric motor, while in the hybrid version, it will only be 160 kW to accompany the 1.5 liter 72 kW engine used to increase autonomy. Both models will be based on lithium ferrophosphate batteries, but Deepal has not yet shared their capacity.
Pricing is another mystery about the Deepal L07 that remains to be solved. It’s unclear where the L07 will fit into the Deepal range, which already has an electric sedan, the SL03. However, the brand has classified these models as “brothers”, each focused on a type of driver: The SL03 specializes in “sports technology”, while the L07 specializes in “smart technology”.
