Ralph Ineson will play a major role in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. The British actor, known for starring in several films and video games in recent years, will don the purple crown as Galactus, marking his second appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fantastic Four is expected to be released in 2025 and so far has an interesting cast, including Ineson. Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Jeff Quinn and Julia Garner will play key roles. But Ineson stands out as a particularly solid addition to the roster.
Video game fans may be more familiar with Ralph Ineson due to his recent forays off-screen. Not only was he acclaimed for his role as Loras in Diablo 4, but he also wowed Final Fantasy XVI fans as the ever-reliable Cid. Lately, his career seems to be on a real upswing – and those who’ve listened to his recent work know he deserves it.
No doubt it’s also a major step up from his previous role as a Predator pilot in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” If you want to try out more of his acting roles, you could check out The Witches (which was excellent and a real breakout role for Ineson), and The Creator. British prejudices aside, he was indeed a young man who made Yorkshiremen proud. Hopefully, as the Devourer, he can win more people’s support.
That’s not to say Marvel is a hotbed of popularity right now. Just two days ago, the company announced its intention to reduce its production to a handful of movies and series per year. This likely means quality will improve as more focus can be placed on individual films and series, although whether this will reverse a true sense of superhero fatigue remains to be seen.
