Has your PS5 just informed you about an error code and you don’t know how to fix it? Don’t worry: here are the most common PlayStation 5 errors and their most effective solutions.

CE-108255-1 – An application error has occurred

This PS5 error usually appears when an app or PS5 game crashes. Here are three solutions:

  • If the error occurs just after running the application or game, uninstall the program from Settings – Storage and reinstall it.
  • Boot PlayStation 5 from Safe Mode and run option 5 (Rebuild Database).

  • If the error persists, please backup all data and restore PS5. Settings – System – System Software – Restore PS5. Now install the error application again.

If everything points to a problem with your PlayStation 5, try these solutions:

  • Restart the PS5, connects the console to the internet using a fixed connection and configure the network settings again.
  • In case of wireless connection, consider that there is something that is interrupting this connection with the router. If you can, move the console closer to the router, or vice versa, or move away any object that may get in the way.
  • A classic that you were surely expecting: turn off the router and the modem, wait at least five minutes and restart the console.
  • Update the firmware of the router. This step will vary depending on your Internet provider, consult their online manual or contact their customer service to find out how to do it.
  • You may have key ports closed on your router. Check that the following ports are open. TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480 and UDP: 3478, 3479.49152 ~ 65535. Opening ports is a world; the method is different depending on the brand of the router, your Internet provider … It is best to contact the latter if you do not know how to do it.
  • In the network settings, set an IP address manually to improve the connection. Warning: do not use an IP address that is already occupied on your router or modem. Otherwise, both your PS5 and the device “owning” the address will not work.
  • Temporarily change DNS settings. Go to Network Settings and use a public DNS. Don’t forget to return to your default setting once the problem has been fixed.

This PS5 error appears when there is a problem with the servers of a specific game. It’s not your problem; something is happening with the servers of said game. It is time to wait until it is solved. You can check the game’s official Twitter to see if the developers are aware of the issue and are already fixing it.

CE-108360-8 – Check the connection status of the HD Camera and PlayStation Camera

A PS5 error that appears when there are problems with both the HD camera you use and the official PS Camera.

  • If you use the PS Camera, remember that you need a specific adapter to connect it to PS5.
  • Check the connection method to verify that your camera, whatever it is, is connected to the console.
  • Make sure the room is lit up. It may sound silly, but sometimes cameras don’t detect movement well in the dark.
  • Check the camera settings on PS5 and make sure everything is fine. If there are problems, the console will tell you.

CE-100005-6 – There was a problem reading the disc

For some reason, the PS5 did not read the disc correctly. Can be it because the disc is dirty (and you have to clean it a bit) or because of a problem with the internal player. For the second case, restart the console. If the error persists, insert a different disc. If the console reads it, it means that the original disc must be so scratched or dirty that it is unreadable.

CE-100028-1 – Not enough free space on SSD
