A new app makes it easier to share content privately between Samsung Galaxy devices: Private Sharing. The application allows you to share images, videos, sounds or texts securely; be able to limit the time that its visualization will be available.
There are tons of ways to send files to another phone, be it pictures, videos or texts. We usually use messaging apps which is a convenient way to share any content. However, not all offer the same privacy and security for data, so you might need a tool that ensures their disappearance and that they are not transmitted
Private sharing allows you to share content by limiting its display
The idea behind Private Share is what the app claims on its behalf: activate data sharing with maximum confidentiality. And this is a premise that is strictly observed since it not only avoids deleting what is received from the application, but whoever sends it can strictly limit the time during which what they share will remain active.
Private sharing is integrated with the security and privacy options of One UI offering the following qualities:
- Secure file sharing. What is shared cannot leave private sharing and is intended only for the person who receives it. Content may not be redistributed.
- Unable to take screenshots. Private sharing prevents the use of captures so that there is no record of what has been received. It will still be possible to take a photo of the screen with another device, but it already involves a little more hassle.
- Content lifespan may be limited. That you don’t want it to last a minute? Once the recipient opens it, they will have time to view it, regardless of the file type. The time can be adjusted in the private sharing options.
- Record what is shared and who files are exchanged with. You can check when a file was shared and with whom: Private Share keeps a full usage log.
To access the service, you must first install private sharing: if it is not already available on your Samsung Galaxy, you can find it in the Galaxy Store. After installation Private sharing is available in privacy options, in One UI settings. It is possible to transfer a shortcut to the applications in order to facilitate access to the application.
Private sharing is a great way to limit what you share. It is remarkably private and secure, all at the cost of some limitation since only available for Samsung Galaxy. And there is one detail that catches our attention: despite the security of the application, it does not have access control. No fingerprint or pin.
