Ray tracing is a technology used today by game makers, console makers, and graphics card makers as a selling point. And it has just been announced that the next Resident Evil will use ray tracing to provide an even more immersive experience. It remains to be seen who can really benefit from this.

AMD unveiled its Radeon RX 6700 XT card yesterday. And during the presentation video of the latter, the American manufacturer revealed that on the PC, Resident Evil Village will be compatible with both ray tracing and AMD FidelityFX technology
Capcom’s survival horror that should be pleasing to the eye will be “Next generation graphics and atmosphere“improved by the application of these technologies according to AMD. Ray tracing, but for whom?
However, there still remain some questions about ray tracing in Resident Evil Village. AMD demonstrated Capcom’s gaming compatibility with this technology in its video on the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card, suggesting that PC gamers can take advantage of this technology in Resident Evil Village when equipped with this technology. The AMD the Village official website however, indicates that an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT is recommended to enjoy survival horror with ray tracing enabled. The manufacturer and Capcom must therefore clarify the situation on the PC.
And that’s not the only thing Capcom has to say. Indeed, the compatibility of the PS5 and Xbox series X | S with ray tracing often highlighted by Sony and Microsoft. It is therefore legitimate to wonder if Resident Evil Village will also benefit from ray tracing on new generation consoles.
