Just a few days ago, we witnessed the official launch of Outriders, the latest triple A from People Can Fly and Square Enix, which is a commercial success and became the Japanese company’s best launch on Steam.
Right off the bat, People Can Fly studio has made their intentions known with Outriders, confirming that it will be sold upfront as a full title, and it will not be necessary to purchase subsequent expansions to complete it; as usual in games as a service. Thanks to an interview carried out by the medium Forbes, we can learn new details about future DLCs and how they will be.
Outriders expansions will bring significant content
The director, Bartek Kmita, and the lead designer, Piotr Nowakowski, offered to answer a few questions posed by the media Forbes, in which they are asked, among other things, about future expansions and how they will be.
We never said we would quit the game. It’s not a title as a service, but if people like it, we’ll definitely do more in the Outriders universe. We have a lot more stories to tell and a lot of ideas that we want to explore that we couldn’t fit into the original game, so we’re happy to create more content in the future. Everything we do would take the form of meaningful extensions with stand-alone stories.
We’re not sure what the strategy of the study will be, so we’ll have to wait for further details on the expansions and their scale. We recommend that you stay signed in to Generation Xbox for further details on Outriders.
