The Xbox Series S was the top-selling console in India in March 2021, ahead of the Xbox Series X.
With a 90 percent market share, India is clearly dedicated to PlayStation. But players have now discovered the current generation of Xbox consoles for themselves.
Several stationary retailers in India report that the Xbox Series S console was the best-selling console in March 2021. The big brother, the Xbox Series X, lies behind the inexpensive Xbox Series S entry-level model.
Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S were launched in India on November 10, 2020. Since then, the Xbox Series consoles have been available more often than PlayStation 4 and 5, for example. Customers have therefore opted for the Xbox Series S.
The Xbox Game Pass is said to have contributed to the decision. In particular, the load of new games from the Bethesda catalog was an argument in favor of an Xbox.
As IGN India writes, some customers initially wanted a (unavailable) PlayStation 4. But after explaining the benefits of an Xbox Game Pass, they turned to the Xbox Series S instead.
Instead of waiting for another console to be available, the Xbox Series S was in stock, making it the alternative for most buyers.
