Matt Booty from Xbox Game Studios has confirmed a joint Xbox and Bethesda conference for E3 2021.
Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios spoke to French site Le Figaro about Xbox Game Pass and Bethesda. Since the article is locked behind a paywall, only excerpts from the colleagues at Wccftech are available.
Accordingly, Booty confirms in the interview that there will be a joint Xbox / Bethesda conference for E3 2021 in a few weeks. Both companies will therefore be presenting themselves together at the digital trade fair.
About the takeover of Bethesda by Microsoft Booty said that the individual studios should keep their creative freedom. Microsoft will also not interfere in Bethesda’s publishing service and impose its own teams in the areas of marketing, sales, communication or overseas offices, as Wccftech writes.
Regarding Xbox Game Pass and its publications, Booty said that “Microsoft doesn’t want its studios to create games based on what might work best in Game Pass.” Accordingly, one does not want to go the way of Netflix and follow an extended analysis of viewer data, or in this case player numbers, on the Xbox.
