Somerville looks like something Playdead can make, even if it isn’t.

Somerville is Jump Ship’s first project, which was established in 2017 after the departure of Playdead co-founder Dino Patti. Of course, Playdead is responsible for Limbo and Inside, and you can immediately see this pedigree in Jump Ships’ new game.
Since this is the first time we view Somerville correctly, there are many mysteries about what it is. From the trailer, we can see that this is an atmospheric horizontal scroll about a family in a certain theater. The character movement and animation are once again reminiscent of Inside.
Interestingly, this family-and their dog-are running in the game world together, which may mean that we have to lead them/protect them from danger, which is a major change from Playdead’s normal single-player adventure.
Somerville is an Xbox exclusive game console that will be available on the Xbox platform and PC sometime in 2022. And, like most games in the show, it will be available via Xbox Game Pass (console, cloud, PC) at launch.
