Yesterday Apple released the third beta of iOS 14.7, but this update came with a new version of iOS 12 for older iPhones. I mean, Apple just update devices with 8 years on the market, something unique and within the reach of no other company.
iOS 12.5.4 is now available and it’s a security update that introduces some very important new features. If you have an older iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, we recommend that you immediately install this new software update, iOS 12.5.4.

Apple says the update to iOS 12.5.4 was released to address some security issues that may have been exploited. Here’s what Apple revealed:

- Impact: Processing a maliciously crafted certificate may lead to the execution of arbitrary code
- Description: A memory corruption issue in the ASN.1 decoder was addressed by removing the vulnerable code.

- Impact: Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to the execution of arbitrary code. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

Apple continues to be involved in security issues, updating devices such as the iPhone 5s, launched 8 years ago, or the iPad Air or iPad mini 2, also laced in 2013. If you own any of these models, you can now update to iOS 12.5.4.
