If there is anyone who is serious about not talking about their projects until they are well under way, it is the creator of the characters of ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko.
The reason we say it is that this Thursday and through an interview for Sunrise World, the animation director revealed that he is working on a film that, for the moment, has not been announced to the public.
Although we do not have details, Yasuhiko admitted that production is already in its final stages and that for sure in the coming months we will have a look at his new project.
Now that Yoshikazu has released this information, what causes most curiosity among fans is not the content of the work itself, but the work of the great creator of the characters of ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ in it.
Un poco de Yoshikazu Yasuhiko
As you surely know, Yasuhiko is one of the walking legends of the anime world, with the most prolific mecha franchise on her belt and her work on ‘Space Battleship Yamato’ storyboards.
Both franchises remain strong in Japan to this day and it is difficult to discern what would become of them without the intervention of the designer, who not only handled the characters for the 1979 series, but also handled ‘Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam’ and ‘ Mobile Suit Gundam F91 ‘.
As for his work on the manga, Yasuhiko was commissioned to bring ‘Gundam: The Origin’ to life in 2001, as a work that adapts the events of the first series in which he worked with a fresher air.
It is this twist that allows Japanese TV to re-enjoy his story with ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin’, in which he served as chief director and character designer and served as a prequel to its original series.
