Since its launch in May, Dolby Vision has made a mixed arrival. In fact, despite an announcement that should be good news, most current TVs simply cannot handle the Dolby Vision stream in 4K and 120 Hz.
The Korean company has therefore announced that it is well on the way to providing its televisions with a patch in 2021 in order to be compatible with the standard. The update is already available on the manufacturer’s website and has been in use for a week. The models of the OLED G1, C1 and R1 series are initially affected. The other models as well as those for 2020 should also benefit from the patch in the coming weeks. The exact list of the references in question will certainly be given later.
Remains one of the main concerns at the level of titles that use Dolby Vision technology. Currently there are only five of them: Course 5, Halo: Master Chief Collection, Resident Evil: Village, Borderland 3 and Wreck festival. Hopefully, as the number of compatible televisions grows, more titles will use this technology.
