The big summer sale has been running on Steam since last week, where you can buy thousands of different games at great discounts – the ideal opportunity to check your wish list for discounts or to let your personal Pile Of Shame grow even further.
Of course, the campaign also has a direct impact on the weekly ranking of the best-selling Steam products, because suddenly there are no more new releases here. Instead, the Steam sales charts are dominated by heavily discounted titles. Including one or the other game from our very personal summer sale recommendations.
Sea of Thieves takes the lead thanks to Discount and Jack Sparrow
In first place is Sea of Thieves, a long-running hit this week, which seems to be among the bestsellers every week. Usually, however, more in the back seats.
The numerous sales are not only due to the discount, because this time it is not that huge: The pirate co-op adventure is currently reduced by 33 percent, At the end of May there was a 50 percent discount.
Much more important for the renewed success should be the biggest update so far, “A Pirate’s Life”: Microsoft and Rare have teamed up with Disney for this and bring stories and characters from the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” films into play – including, of course, Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp and villain Davy Jones.
You can also check out new enemies, environments, and more in the trailer:

The update also gave the number of players a big boost: Since the release of “A Pirate’s Life” on June 22nd, 2021, there have always been at least 50,000 Steam players on the servers of the open world game again.
More winners of the Steam Summer Sale
Behind Sea of Thieves there are other games in the current Steam sales charts that are currently heavily discounted. Second place went to the GOTY edition of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. From Software’s Ninja Soulslike is available for the first time with a 50 percent discount two years after its release, previously it was only 35 percent.
The open-world masterpiece Horizon Zero Dawn can also be placed in the current top 3 thanks to the discount of 40 percent. If you haven’t given the story about machine hunter Alloy yet, you can read again in our test what makes Horizon Zero Dawn so great:
