A few days ago we reported on the signs that the multiplayer shooter World War 3 will report back with a new sign of life after a long period of radio silence. A countdown on social media suggested great things, but so far there is only one new trailer.
The new material is also very well received by the community. On YouTube, the trailer got over 9000 thumbs up, while only 240 thumbs down were given. There is also a lot of praise in the comments.

World War 3 – The multiplayer shooter is back with a new trailer
Striking similarities to Battlefield 2042
What the expert eye should notice when looking at the trailer: Many of the advertised innovations will also be available in the upcoming Battlefield 2042. In terms of the general look, for example the user interface and the text overlay when hits, one seems to have taken more than just a look at the competitor .
Would you like some examples? We know these elements in one way or another from Battlefield 2042:
-
World War 3 now also has one Call-In-Featureas already advertised by BF 2042 in the trailers. So you can request vehicles directly on the battlefield, which are then dropped by transport planes.
-
You can rebuild your weapons without respawn. Even while the battle is in progress, the backpack feature provides you with a number of attachments to attach a new visor, for example. This mechanic is also known from the upcoming Battlefield and is called the Plus System there.
-
The Double Sprint was already introduced by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). But the short-term speed boost will also be available in Battlefield 2042. It is hardly surprising that World War 3 suddenly also offers this feature – and even with an almost identical running animation as in the DICE shooter.
Of course, these similarities do not have to mean that the developers of World War 3 knew about the new features of Battlefield 2042 at an early stage, thanks to some sources. Perhaps you simply had the right nose and analyzed the competition in detail.
Will the game be a success this time around?
The best features in and of themselves are of no use if the overall gaming experience is not fun. And here World War 3 still has to prove that it can really play with the greats. There is also the technology that made many players jump off at the first attempt a few years ago.
On Twitter, some fans complained that the countdown was a little too thick to just publish a new trailer. But according to the developers, this was only the first part of a series of news about the game.
