A registration with the European Trademark Office, EUIPO, reveals that Realme is developing an alternative to Apple’s MagSafe. It would be a pad with wireless charging for the brand’s mobiles. And it will be called MagDart, so it appears in the archives. For the moment, other data is ignored.
Apple laptops have done without an excellent charging system: the MagSafe. Thanks to it, its users were able to charge their MacBooks without fear of falling to the ground if someone trips on the cable
Registering on behalf of MagDart for a device linked to charging
EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, registered on July 14 the name of MagDart by Realme. This is indicated in the office register; without the said register proposing images or specific characteristics of the future charging device.
The record, discovered by DroidMaze, concerns a device for charging devices. In the EUIPO there is the name, too close to the name of MagSafe. And, considering the fact that the fast charging technology used by Realme (and other OPPO brands) is called “Dart”, the most logical thing is to think that the future MagDart is a wireless charging system. which is coupled to the phones thanks to a magnetic base.
The trademark was registered on July 14, it is European in scope and has not yet been granted. The data reflected in the registration form contains “Class 9”, a category for freight accessories. Say class references smartphone chargers and cables, also “wireless charging pads”
All indications indicate that Realme is working on a wireless charging accessory for its mobiles capable of offer fast charging and precise positioning thanks to magnetism (similar to what happens with MagSafe on the iPhone 12). It will be necessary to see if the final design has gone back to that of Apple or if Realme ends up changing the round shape of its chargers.
