External battery test: Tegic Block 30

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Tegic, a brand of portable batteries to charge your mobile or any device and the truth is that I was quite surprised by their product catalog.

If you take a look at its website, you’ll see that what initially strikes most is the design of its batteries, with models in which you can see the inside of the device.

I wanted to see if these batteries are really as premium as they appear on their website, so I agreed to test the product.

Then I will tell you about my experience with the Tegic Block 30 power bank and tell you whether it is really worth buying or not.

Design and build quality

Spoiler: yes, in real life she is as pretty as the photo on her site. The truth is that the brand takes great care of the details, from the packaging to the final product, everything gives the feeling of being in front of a product much more expensive than it actually costs.

The white box in which the battery is delivered is one of the most original. It looks like some sort of egg carton that you’ll open to find the power bank inside as well as the USB-C charging cable.

This egg box is actually a box made of biodegradable material, a very important ecological touch that deserves to be taken into account.

The battery takes up the entire size of the palm of my hand (my hand is quite small). To be exact, it measures 136mm x 66mm x16mm, which isn’t much compared to other models I’ve been able to test.

It seems a bit heavy (227 grams), but not overly. That’s a pretty standard weight, and what one would expect from a battery of this type.

The finish plays with the matt gloss: the matt back is covered with a non-slip rubber that allows it to rest well on any surface, without scratching or slipping.

However, it is at the top that we can see the original touch of this external battery: finished in a metallic gray (it is also available in black, although both models appear in gray), you can see the logo of the mark in a lighter gray at the bottom and top, you can see the circuit board under tempered glass.

The ability to see the inside of the battery gives it a futuristic and super original touch that will surely appeal to almost any taste.

When using the battery, you will see the LEDs inside the circuit light up to show you the battery of the device. The same happens when you charge the power bank and also when you press the button on the top to check the quality of the battery.

As a final verdict on the design, I can say that this is a stylish and quirky device that looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. It doesn’t disappoint.

Performance, features and connectivity

Now the power bank is very nice, but is it working well? Ultimately, the most important thing about a charging device is that it offers decent power and acceptable charging specifications.

On the performance side, it offers a power of 10,000 mAh. It will suffice to charge a mobile twice depending on the capacity of this mobile. This is what we expect from a battery that you will surely take on a day trip or if you are going to be spending many hours away from home and need to use your mobile frequently.

However, if you need a battery pack to go camping for a weekend or any other adventure that you won’t have outlets nearby, you might want to invest a little more and buy a battery pack. a power of at least 20000mAh.

Also note that even though the spec list says it offers 10,000mAh, a lot of that power is wasted in other things like heat for example.

Something very positive about the Block 30 is that it charges very quickly. You will have a full battery in about an hour thanks to the transmission power of 30W. When you charge a device from the battery, the charge is also quite fast.

In the box comes a fairly short cable (it is more convenient to carry), which has a USB input that becomes USB-C so that you can choose the option that best suits you when charging the battery.

In the list of specifications below we offer you all the technical data that you must take into account on this model of external battery.

Pricing and availability

The Tegic Block 30 power bank can be purchased from the official Tegic website for $ 56. However, Tegic is now offering discounts on their product, so you can use the code Tegic20 and pay $ 47 instead of its original price.

Verdict

If you want a portable battery that is comfortable to carry and with an elegant and original design, the Block 30 is the ideal device.

It offers excellent performance thanks to its fast charging speed and power capable of charging a cell phone twice.

The value for money is pretty good since you take a device that looks aesthetically much more expensive than it actually is, especially if you take advantage of the discount code offered by Tegic.
