One of the bigger topics of the digital E3 this year was certainly the foundation of the new game label Prime Matter. One of the first titles of the new label is now to be encased, which has received a specific release date.
Encased is a dystopian sci-fi role-playing game by Dark Crystal Games that is gambled from an isometric perspective and appears via Prime Matter. Now it is definitely clear when exactly it will happen.
From September 7, 2021 you will be able to immerse yourself in the game world, which – despite the sci-fi setting – is by no means set in the future. Instead, the setting provides an alternative year 1976 and lets you explore a hostile area called “The Dome”. The sealed wasteland is packed with technology, but also deadly enemies.
You begin in one of five disciplines – science, engineering, security, management, or convict. Accordingly, the initial values and the specialization options also differ, which opens up various dialogue options during the course of the game. As with all classic RPGs, the game is a mix of exploration, combat, and quest interactions. As you travel through the game world, you will have to make supplies and weapons and try every possible means to ensure that today is not the last.
As you level up, you will encounter six different factions that have appeared in this zone. Whether they become friends or enemies is entirely up to you.
Encased is inspired by books like Roadside Picnic and other post-apocalyptic RPGs. The release is planned on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.com. There is currently an early access phase that includes the entire first act and part of the second act. The full version will then be available on the specified date.
