Hardspace: Shipbreaker nominated at SIGGRAPH 2021
Blackbird Interactive and Focus Home Interactive’s critically acclaimed space sandbox salvage game Hardspace: Shipbreaker is on a real run! The game has just won twice at the 2021 Canadian Game Awards – in which not only the “Fans Choice” Award, but also the award for “Best Game Design” went to the team – the nominations continue right away: The pre-rendered intro sequence of the game has now been nominated for the prestigious Electronic Theater at SIGGRAPH, a conference that has an outstanding reputation in the field of computer graphics.
In the first few seconds of the sequence, human closeness and warmth meet oppressive emptiness and the indifference of space, while the player accepts a contract with Lynx – a gigantic corporation that has industrialized much of the solar system.
How can workers who are proud of their job fight for their rights at the same time? To find out, players will need to play the recently released first chapters of the upcoming career mode.
The successful Early Access will soon get even more content
Hardspace: Shipbreaker went into Early Access in June 2020 and has been supplied with fresh content since then – also thanks to the close ties between the developers and the community. With new ships, story sections and other additional content coming up in the near future, there has never been a better time to apply to be a Lynx employee and join our ever-growing community of engineers.
Due to the strong physical correctness of the environment, the immersive sound and the three-dimensional approach to problem solving in weightlessness, the game offers an unmistakable feeling right in the middle.
It is currently available in Steam Early Access, and can even be bought at a reduced price via a bundle that includes the game and the soundtrack. Console versions are also planned for a later date.
