Together with the iPhone 13-Generation we expect the release of the Apple Watch 7 in autumn 2021. Details on the equipment are few and far between. Often the talk is of new sensors. The recently published patent entitled “Hydration measurement with a watch” could provide an outlook on this.
Laut dem Blog Patently Apple the patent describes a new, non-invasive method for determining the fluid balance. Conventional methods of determining this are “generally invasive, expensive and unreliable”, according to Apple.
According to the patent description, the measurement with the Apple principle takes place via electrodes on the back of the Apple Watch, by analyzing the sweat.
What is all this for?
Apple expects the data collected via the sensor to provide better insights into the athletic performance and general health of the watch wearer. The Apple Watch could also warn of impending dehydration or the ingestion of too much fluid.
