EA and DICE have announced further details on the three new maps of Battlefield 2042.
Electronic Arts and DICE have revealed three more maps for Battlefield 2042, which will be playable on November 19th when the title is released. Available in All-Out Warfare, Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone game modes, these new environments have been carefully designed to capture the unique aspects of the Battlefield multiplayer experience such as verticality, confined combat, ranged combat, vehicle attacks and dynamic destruction enable.
Further details on the three cards at a glance:
- New beginning takes place in the Egyptian desert and offers a multi-layered landscape with a solar power plant on one side and a research facility on the other. Both regions are separated from each other by a wall with different access points. There is a bottleneck in the middle of the map, at an access control point that is often contested in Conquest mode. Players: in these areas as well as in the two buildings on the map, you should expect combat in a very small space.
- Upheaval takes place in Antarctica and offers an offshore platform off the frozen coast and an observation station, which is a key position for air battles due to its elevated position. Players fight on the jagged glacier trails: inside and on the ice cliffs, which are connected to one another with zip lines and rope bridges. The quick deployment of a parachute can make the difference between life and death.
- Discarded takes place on the west coast of India and contains a flooded village, a dismantled hull and a colossus ship for players to explore. There are many cover options and fights in a confined space on this map. The colossus ship enables combat indoors, while aircraft and tanks attack the outer hull. Due to the unpredictable weather, players must always be vigilant because a tornado can form on the map at any time.
Battlefield 2042 is available for pre-order and will be available in retail and digital vendors starting November 19th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. Owners of the digital Standard Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S also get access to the title for Xbox One or PlayStation 4 via dual entitlement.
