call of Duty: Vanguard will, like six of the last seven titles, contain a zombies mode. After all, Nazis and zombies have been like peanut butter and jelly for COD multiplayer since 2008. But the mode’s main quest that sets this year’s narrative will follow more than a month after the game launches on November 5th. said Treyarch on Monday.
Treyarch did not provide a release date or window for the main quest. Instead, “new zombies content and functions will be introduced” on December 2nd Vanguard,“Said the studio. “Players will also encounter some other surprise elements later in Season 1, setting the stage for our upcoming main quest.
“This main quest will be tied to the arrival of an unexpected ally after season one,” Treyarch’s blog said Monday. Season one of Call of Duty: Vanguard starts on December 2nd. The first season for 2020 Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also started in December and ran until the end of February.
Treyarch, who helped introduce zombies Call of Duty: The World at War in 2008 headed development for last year Black Ops Cold War. With vanguard, the studio will have been instrumental in the development of three of the previous four Call of Duty games. Fans assumed that this level of work is why Zombies’ Main Quest will be AWOL when it launches.
“At first 2-3 years to work on the next game, only to be forced to play pretty much three games in a row.” said one commenter on Reddit. “It’s not a problem of laziness, it’s a problem of time constraints.”
“[Black Ops 3] would have the best-selling DLC of all time and they were zombies. ” said another. “Since then, Activision has worked the shit out of Treyarch until they just run out of time to make decent games.”
From 2012 to 2019, Activision switched development management between three studios – Treyarch, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games – and gave each three years to develop a game. For 2020, Activision hired Treyarch to lead the development of Black Ops Cold War when the collaboration between Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games became dysfunctional. Sledgehammer is now in charge of Vanguard, and with it the Second World War arc of the Call of Duty series.
The official Call of Duty website was released on Wednesday a post-launch roadmap which called for the “next chapter of Dark Aether” at the start and “new zombies updates” on December 2nd. The latest zombies chapter was Pyrrhic Victory, which came out on October 7th with Forsaken, the final turn-based zombies map for Black Ops Cold War.
