How to preload Call of Duty: Vanguard
If you’ve pre-ordered Vanguard on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC, you can now pre-load the game by heading over to your game library and downloading it. This means that the game will be ready for you as soon as it is available to play.
Console gamers can dive into the action of WWII at midnight local time, except for North American gamers. North American and PC gamers around the world can play the game at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET / 4 AM GMT (November 5).
Download file size of Call of Duty: Vanguard
Vanguard’s download size will be significantly smaller than Cold War’s thanks to new texture-on-demand streaming technology.
The official Call of Duty blog posted all the new information on the download file size for CoD: Vanguard on October 26, 2021. As with previous Call of Duty games, the download file size for CoD : Vanguard will differ depending on the platform you are playing on.

Fortunately, the Call of Duty developers have incorporated ways to reduce the size of Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War files, allowing you to select the different content packs you want to install.
Vanguard will do the same, allowing you to install and uninstall:
- Bell
- Multiplayer
- Zombies
By uninstalling these content packs, you can significantly reduce the size of the Vanguard download file, depending on your gaming needs.
Warzone is currently tied to Modern Warfare, but it could switch to Vanguard along with deep integration and the new Warzone map. Currently, you must have Warzone installed to play Modern Warfare. At the time of writing, it is unclear if Warzone will be required.
