The long-running favorites GTA Online and Red Dead Online proved to be an absolute stroke of luck for Rockstar Games in December. Several records tumbled in both titles and the developers now want to celebrate this with the players.

The Christmas season could hardly have gone better for Rockstar Games, because both the long-standing GTA Online and Red Dead Online were both good for records. GTA Online is now in its seventh year, but that doesn't seem to detract from the enthusiasm of the players. In July and August, the average daily, weekly and monthly player numbers rose to new records after the release of the Diamond Casino & Resort – and the Diamond Casino Heist in December went one better.
During the Christmas season, more players than ever before came back into the game. The two big successive updates – the biggest that GTA Online has ever seen – also made December 2019 the strongest month so far in terms of the number of players in the online part of GTA V. Also on YouTube, the various videos have more views than ever collected and just the week from December 30th to January 5th set standards and was the most successful week ever.
And the open expanses of Red Dead Online? The release of the Moonshiner update, which has recently also turned you into a black burner in the Western world, has also provided a boost and has also given this online part the largest number of players since the release in December. The new year has now improved this record again in January.

To celebrate these milestones in both titles, Rockstar Games is presenting some bonuses to the loyal community. In GTA Online, with a cash bonus of up to GTA $ 2,000,000, you can expect the largest monetary gift in history to date. From January 30th, you can get GTA $ 1,000,000 just by playing before February 5th. If you play between February 6th and 12th, you will receive GTA $ 1,000,000 again.
Those who play Red Dead Online receive a range of gifts such as free access to certain roles, special role objects and more:
- The Gunslinger Chest: Play between January 28th and February 3rd and get the free Schofield revolver, a free Varmint rifle and the devastating ammunition package with 100x splinter ammunition for revolvers, 100x high-speed ammunition for pistols, 100x express ammunition for repeating rifles, 100 shotguns and 20x explosive ammunition for rifles.
- The bounty hunter equipment: Play between February 4th and 10th and receive the free Bounty Hunter license, 25 Bolas and 25 Pursuit Arrows.
The success story should of course continue in the new year 2020 and a lot of new content is planned. Next in GTA Online is an open wheel racing series with new vehicle types; further major surprises and updates are expected to follow in the course of the year.
In Red Dead Online the concept of "Frontier Pursuits" is further developed and supplemented by new roles, missions and other significant updates.
