After the rather unsuccessful start, DICE and EA are still working under high pressure on Battlefield 2042. Tomorrow the shooter will receive its next update and we will tell you here what you can expect.
Accordingly, the update to version 3.1 of Battlefield 2042 goes live tomorrow, December 9th. According to the makers, it will be the last major update before the Christmas holidays; afterwards the development team treats itself to a well-deserved break until the end of the month before working on further optimizations of the game in the new year with renewed strength.
For update 3.1, the creators have made some changes to the game balance and implemented other general improvements. The most important innovations are indicated as follows:
- Bullet hit registration improvements
- Balancing changes for projectile dispersion and recoil
- Fixed a rare issue where a player could appear invisible to enemies
- Fixed several bugs related to grenades and rocket launchers
- Menu flow improvements for Xbox players to make it easier to disable cross-play
- Multiple audio enhancements to intensify the overall sound experience, with an emphasis on clarity, distance, and directional perception
- Other balancing changes to the 30mm, 40mm and 57mm cannons of ground vehicles to reduce their effectiveness against infantry

Fixes, changes, and improvements
General
- Even if you are not the party leader, you can now cancel while waiting in the queue
- Xbox – Crossplay can now be enabled / disabled on Xbox in the Options menu
- Your sorting settings are now correctly recalled when you update the Battlefield Portal server browser
- Fixed an issue where equipments would sometimes go blank in the spawn screen after joining a server, making weapon selection impossible
- Aiming aid is now more consistent with console gameplay
- The ranger’s effective combat range and overall health have been reduced
Audio
- Various changes to the overall audio experience improve clarity, distance, and directional awareness
- Fixed an issue where Soldier: Indoors indoors would not always have the correct footstep sounds
weapons
- Removed ricochet when firing underflow grenades at close range
- 40mm AP shells now properly damage vehicles
- Fixed incorrect ammunition display for certain magazines for some weapons
- The animation when reloading the cylinder lock rifle DXR-1 and NTW-50 has been extended by 0.2 seconds
- The dispersion values of most weapons have been adjusted so that they decrease faster with quick single shots and short volleys
- The increase in dispersion has been adjusted for most weapons. It now takes a little longer until they become too imprecise with continuous fire
- The recoil values have been adjusted to prevent too aggressive impacts on the AK-24, LCMG, PKP-BP, SFAR-M GL and PP-29
- Hipfire precision has been increased for all MPs to make them stand out from other automatic weapon archetypes
- The dispersion and recoil of the LMGs have been reduced to improve sustained-fire performance
- Further improvements to recoil control for all weapons, especially automatic ones.
- Increased close range damage and consistency of the MCS-880 for shotshells and Flechette ammo
- Fixed a bug that caused the SFAR-M GL and K30 projectiles to hit below the targeted target point
vehicles
- Fixed a bug where vehicle weapons sometimes did not deal explosive damage when hit directly
- We have reduced the effectiveness of the 30mm cannon for ground vehicles against infantry. It now overheats faster, cadence and explosion damage have been reduced slightly, and damage falloff at range has been increased.

Gadgets
Splittergranate
- The time until a frag grenade detonates after the first ricochet in a hard collision has been increased from 1.1 seconds to 1.4 seconds
- Frag grenades cause 120 damage in all game modes and guarantee a kill even with armored game ends
- Maximum ammunition for fragmentation and incendiary grenades reduced from 2 to 1
Environmental sensor
- Sighting radius reduced from 30 to 20 yards
- Operating time reduced from 30 seconds to 14 seconds
- The end of the game can only wear and use one environmental sensor (previously 2)
Battlefield Hazard Zone
- Fixed an issue where the Occupation Forces patrolling LATV4 Recon spawned at the wrong time or not at all
breakthrough
- Kaleidoscope – Roof Capture Objective has been removed. There are now two Conquest Objectives down in BT (large) and one down in BT (small)
- Orbital – Roof Capture Target has been removed. There is now a conquest target below in BT (large) and in BT (small)
- Hourglass – Roof Capture Objective has been removed. There is now a capture target below in BT (large) and in BT (small). We also fixed an issue that could cause game ends to spawn outside of the game area
Soldier
- Improvements when colliding with objects when moving backwards in the prone position
- Fixed a rare issue where the end of the game could become invisible when spawning in a full / destroyed vehicle
