In a post on Twitter earlier today, Ubisoft announced that in order to achieve its goal of “continuing to provide the best The Division 2 experience” for players, it had made the decision to delay the next event, as well as the title update for February, for a later date in 2022.

The move is part of an attempt to “restart a more regular update schedule in The Division 2 in the future,” building on existing content and polishing the core elements of upcoming updates. However, it appears that the development team will be shutting down until the update is closer to a release: the announcement states that Ubisoft “will be looking forward to resuming our communication closer to our new release date,” and that the test server attached to update will also be delayed.
It is not entirely clear what the February update should include. Originally due to its release in late 2021, it has already been delayed once, but Ubisoft has previously claimed that it will be one of their “most ambitious” additions to the game and “will pave the way for the future of The Division 2”. “Apparel events seem to be less important as they offer players a different way to earn new items, so it is possible that the February event was closely related to the larger update, which is why it has been moved with him instead of launching himself separately.
While next year’s big update might be delayed, there is good news for The Division 2 players as Title Update 14 arrives today. The focus is mostly on fixing issues with the game, but there’s also a festive addition to the New Years Hoarder form, returning to drop a weapon and mask. The Santa Hunter also returns, dropping his own mask if you kill them.
