The Magsafe system allows you to magnetically attach your iPhone to any compatible accessory. So one of the first apps that came to your mind when it was introduced was a car holder. Until then, I had resisted using the magnetic mounts that existed as they all involved placing a metal plate on your phone., and I refused to do so. There were other systems that used specific covers, but that meant you were limited to those covers, and that wasn’t something I liked too much either.

Designed to be placed on the ventilation grid, we only see on its front face the large MagSafe disk to which the iPhone will be magnetically attached, and which will also act as a charger, with a power of 7.5W. It can be hinged to give it the tilt and angle you need to see the iPhone screen, so it can be used as a GPS navigator, for example. The attachment to the ventilation grid is strong and stable, and it has a hinged tab to prevent the weight of the iPhone from tipping the stand. It is not compatible with vertical or circular grilles, it only works on horizontal grids.

When not in use, we can enjoy its beautiful design. The front is aluminum, but really, no gray painted plastic. The Satechi logo is engraved at the bottom. Modern, sleek and understated design, you couldn’t ask for more. To place the iPhone, all you have to do is bring it closer to the magnetic disk and the union is almost automatic. For this, it must be an iPhone 12 or 13, in any of its models. If we use covers, these must be covers compatible with the MagSafe system.

. For cable freaks like me, there is the job of hiding it as much as possible, something which is not difficult with a few small adhesive clips that secure the cable which in my case must go through the entire dashboard.
