News culture Berserker Volume 41, a very special volume
After the tragic news of the death of Kentaro Miura, the legendary mangaka from Berserk, the continuation of his work is uncertain. We’ll be back to inform you about the release of his latest volume.
The last tome of a masterpiece
Today is the death knell for the publication of the last volume of Berserk in Japan. In France, we have to wait until July 2022
This volume 41 should close the cruel adventures of Guts the Berserker. Should then we still don’t know if the manga will end either way or when someone takes over the work of the master of the dark fantasy. On May 8th, 2021, the fans learned with great sadness that the mangaka died of an aortic dissection. A disease he fought for a long time to finish his job.
An uncertain future
Nothing has been decided at the moment, but Kentaro’s assistant Miura has offered to take over the sequel. The work will not be easy, since the mangaka is not considered a master for nothing. His boards and therefore its design is recognized all over the world as the most beautiful in the world, which rises to the rank of a true work of art. It is good to remember that in our digital age the mangaka drew all of his boards by hand.
Kentaro Miura’s work therefore has a vague future, but it will certainly cross the ages as Myth and inspiration from every dark fantasy universe. Berserk now poses as a manga building and respected by all, the publication of this last volume testifies to it with its echo. Large national daily newspapers such as the New York Times in the USA, Le Monde in France and Asahi Shinbun in Japan have written an article on the occasion, echoing across the continents. Each of these items had a beautiful illustration (in the order listed above) that the shadow tamer had left behind.
