After the necessary maintenance work had already been carried out at the beginning of the month, the developers at New World are now getting serious: The server consolidations start – and that already tomorrow. The process should go as far as possible problem-free, an important one but
there are already official sources. Because at least companies should prepare to lose their land.
We have all the information about the server mergers for you and explain which problem your company may have to live with until the beginning of 2022.
Server merges in New World: you need to know that
When does the server consolidation start? According to one Developer entry in the official forum it starts with us on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 1 a.m. So only the night owls among you should be affected by the downtime.
How long is the downtime? The merging of the affected servers should take about 2 hours if everything goes according to plan. Of course, it can never be ruled out that unforeseen problems will prolong the maintenance work.
Why are the servers being merged? The developers say there are a few things to look out for before deciding to merge two or more servers. Of course, the number of players is probably the most important criterion here. Because only with a vital player base the economy works as intended, the search for players and the central PvP in New World suffers from empty servers.
What happens if too few players are on a server, you can read here:

What will change for individual players? As planned, nothing. The names of the target servers remain untouched, and you do not lose items, gold or other progress. The situation is different with companies, however, which would have brought us to one of the problems already mentioned by the developer.
What problems do companies face? In New World, it is well known that companies can own their own territories in the game world. This now leads to problems with the server consolidation. Basically, if a company that is transferred to a server owns a piece of land that is also claimed by a guild on the target world, the latter has priority. True to the motto: first come …
Are players and companies compensated? Yes, if you are plagued by problems or if your company is expropriated, you should receive some kind of compensation. However, the developers still leave open exactly which one. The time window is also quite generous: Due to the upcoming holidays, you don’t want to worry about it until the beginning of next year.
As promised, on page 2 you will find the full EU list of servers that will be merged.
