The ongoing battle between the two sides has gained new progress war zone Cheaters and Activision Blizzard’s Ricochet Anti-Cheat.It looks like those programs that use aiming bots, which allow you to lock onto enemies and knock them out without worrying about missing a shot, are having their Mid-game damage has been significantly reduced.
While this damage reduction appears to have been quietly added in a small update last Friday, before we reported that some cheaters were starting to breach the initial protections added to the game by implementing Ricochet.
To visualize how it works, the current top post on Warzone Reddit shows one such cheater falling victim to this anti-cheat adaptation. You can see that as they continue to empty the full magazine to another player, not a single bullet is lost or the recoil doesn’t bounce at all, the damage keeps dropping. After nearly forty rounds, they barely broke through their armor.
So how do cheaters respond? Well, via screenshots from CharlieIntel’s report on the subject, one such cheat provider explained that since the damage scaling is in the backend, they can’t fully address it. Instead, this cheat provider suggests using an accuracy slider, which will lower the volume of the aiming bot, hopefully subverting the nerfs. We’ve included screenshots from CharlieIntel below:
So what does this mean for the average, honest Warzone player? It’s definitely a win, and any inconvenience imposed on those hoping to spoil the rest of our experience is something to celebrate. Sadly, this doesn’t affect many of the other cheats shady cheaters have on hand, such as wall hacks that have been popular in the game for a while.
It does, however, lend some credibility to the original Ricochet Anti-Cheat Mission Statement as an ongoing, evolving thorn in the side of cheaters and cheat providers. As before, we can only sit back and hope that more updates like this are coming.
