As Sony prepares to deliver two remasters of PS4 episodes of Uncharted to the PS5 catalogue, the heads of the series are talking loudly about their future.
To mark the release of Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, Creative Director Shaun Escayg and Director Kurt Margenau hosted a series of interviews to look back on the eventful adventures of one Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazier.
I’m not a thief
Naughty Dog Studio has been particularly busy developing (and testing) The Last of Us Part II, and yet the series may continueas Escayg said Games Radar :
Uncharted is about hearts, struggles, complex characters and their perseverance, and I think that struggle is in all of us. It’s Uncharted’s “special sauce” that makes you want to return. We cherish this universe so much.
Looking ahead, I think it’s safe to say that we can never say never. Uncharted is a license we love—that the studio loves. It’s a world we want to rediscover. I can say that.
This potentially leaves the door open for other adventures, provided the winds are favorable and the treasury isn’t too cryptic.
