Xbox boss Phil Spencer wants gamers to have more respect and dignity towards developers and creatives.
Anyone who listens to Phil Spencer, reads his interviews or sees him on stage knows that the man cares a lot about inclusion, the players and his developers. So the entire industry.
The head of the Xbox division at Microsoft is trying to do his part by making gaming a better place and providing innovations like the Xbox Game Pass.
Spencer recently received the DICE Lifetime Achievement Award for his long-standing contribution to the industry and spoke to IGN about it.
Among other things, Spencer said that you should keep playing, use your voice and understand the power of creativity and the power of the community.
But he also found words with which he campaigned for the developers and spoke out against rivalries between the platforms.
“And the other thing I would say is, let’s respect the creators. I think that very often it happens that creations are made into some kind of weapon and used in fights between platforms and other things. I look at anyone brave enough to create something and release it.”
Rather than fighting battles, the community should be celebrating the many games from so many developers and creative creators. According to Spencer, this is the basis on which the further development of the industry is built.
