The fact that there are nasty surprises lurking around every corner of the Elden Ring is really nothing new. It should therefore come as no surprise to anyone that the warm hugs of the NPC Fia demand their price. And that has a direct effect on your life bar. No, not them, you piggies.
We provide you with all the information about Fia, her hug and what the effects are. From this point on, be natural light spoilers warned if you don’t want to anticipate the surprise. If you haven’t met Fia yet, just take a look at our Elden Ring tips for beginners:

14 things we wish we had known beforehand
Embrace Fia – but with caution
Where can I meet Fia? You will only meet the NPC Fia in Elden Ring once you have defeated the first big boss in the form of Margit. So it can take a few hours before you even meet the lady. If you are victorious in the fight with Margit, you will receive an invitation to the Round Table Fortress. There, among other things, dealers and other useful services are waiting for you – and of course Fia.
At first glance, Fia seems harmless and even offers you hugs. It’s just a little inappropriate, but in the world of Elden Ring, complimentary caresses aren’t just said like that no
. But wait a minute! Does Fias warmth really come without a price? Not at all.
You should better consider beforehand whether you really want to give in to the NPC lady with a tender voice. Because the good woman is not considered without reason Deathbed Companion
designated.
What does the hug do? If you let yourself be embraced by Fias, you should have noticed a debuff icon under your life bar. Or not, the little icon isn’t all that hard to miss. In fact, Fia tapped into your life energy while cuddling – you pay five percent of it.
Five percent less lives for snuggling with a lovely lady sounds like a compromise you wouldn’t necessarily want to make in a From Software game. Because this debuff can make the difference between victory and defeat in the tough boss fights of Elden Ring.
How do I get rid of the debuff? After Fia’s hug, you can shoot as many potions in your head or rest in places of mercy as often as you like – you won’t get rid of the LP debuff again. Instead, you must make use of an item that Fia conveniently stuffed into your pockets without warning.
This is the blessing of the firmament, which can be of great use to you. You just have to know when you need this item and whether you want to cuddle with Fia and accept a temporary debuff.
What brings me blessings of the firmament? Fia’s Gift grants you a bonus to Balance for a short time and relieves you of the HP debuff. The item is especially useful when you’re messing with opponents who will knock your socks off with ease – literally. We therefore recommend that you proceed as follows:
- Have you encountered a boss that regularly causes your character to stumble?
- Find Fia and throw yourself into her arms
- Now return to the boss and use Blessings of the Firmament
- Now you have better balance and are rid of the HP debuff
- Win the boss fight (of course) with ease
