Taking a break in Elden Ring doesn’t mean you have to throw yourself into Fia’s arms.
You know that. In Elden Ring you are beating up a boss, or the boss is beating you up and suddenly the doorbell rings, the fish finger pizza is ready in the oven or the cat urgently needs your attention. How nice would it be if you could just pause the game.
But don’t despair, because Elden Ring can actually be paused! And you don’t even need to download and install a mod for that. In the following lines, we will tell you how you can take a breather in the game. Because the function is well hidden and a little awkward to maneuver.

Be warned: the pause function in Elden Ring is not strictly a pause function in the traditional sense. You’re much more likely to cheat the game a little bit by using a tutorial box to learn the game freezes

It is correspondingly awkward to pause Elden Ring if you don’t want to use mods for it. In the worst case, this can cost you a few valuable seconds, to which you are defenselessly exposed to opponents or bosses. So make sure you’re not in range of a gigantic saber or something.
