Definitely The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild It is one of those titles that, regardless of whether you like it more or less, have marked a before and after both within its saga and in open world games. Obviously it is not the first title of this genre, but it has become a benchmark that makes many later games be compared to it.
Today we bring you another example of it. this time the screen rant team
How do they look alike?
- They have a main goal: In Horizon Forbidden West Ruins, Aloy must solve puzzles to get an Ornament (other rewards can also be obtained) and the ruin is not completed until the Ornament is obtained. Similarly, the Shrines in Zelda: Breath of the Wild are not marked as completed until Link picks up the Spirit Orb (item that increases Link’s stamina or health) from within.
- The puzzles are similar
- Both have secondary rewards: Collecting Spirit Orbs and Ornaments at Shrines and Ruins is the only way to complete them, but there are plenty of secondary rewards to collect at both. The secondary rewards are different, but each serves to encourage players to explore.
- Both have similar equipment.: Both Aloy and Link have a team for the occasion that can be used to complete Ruins and Shrines. The grappling hook in Horizon Forbidden West works similarly to the Magnesis in Zelda: Breath of the Wild (to move objects or reach new areas). On the other hand, Link’s paraglider in Zelda: Breath of the Wild seems to have inspired Aloy’s Shield Wing in Horizon Forbidden West, as both are used for gliding.
