A new update is now available for Yakuza Kiwami on Nintendo Switch, and while it's not particularly powerful, it will no doubt be a welcome addition to players of the newly released port.
In short, it offers “some performance improvements.” Yes, that's it! We're not sure exactly what improvements we can expect until we get it running again, but heck, we'll take it. The game already works incredibly well for the Nintendo Switch, but a few small improvements here and there wouldn't hurt.
Yakuza Kiwami is the first in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's franchise to come to the Switch, but the first two entries appeared on the Wii U in HD form back in 2013 in Japan. Kiwami is a very welcome Switch port and hopefully just the first of many for Nintendo's hybrid console.
However, it is certainly not without frustrations. In our review, we pointed out some difficulty jumps and overall pacing issues, but if you're looking to get familiar with the Yakuza / Like A Dragon series, this is definitely a good place to start.
