Sunbreak, the Monster Hunter Rise expansion, had its digital event two months before its release. It’s time for the roundup with the release date, a trailer, pictures and information.
Monster Hunter Rise’s first major expansion, Sunbreak, is on the way. And before it comes to destroying or capturing beasts, Capcom wanted to detail its DLC. Back to the Digital Monster Hunter announcements.
A summer excursion with many new features
Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion will therefore land on June 30, 2022 on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) at the price of $39.99. Pre-orders are open and make sure you have the base game. Booking grants access to Chumsky’s Faithful Dog Costume and Palico’s Striped Cat Costume armor sets.
The trailer above lists what’s new: new campaign, Elgado Outpost, updated bestiary, and capacities. Assuming you’ve completed Rise.
Capcom has also added weapons and armor to encourage and train players. And by the time the DLC releases, there will be a 13GB update for both Switch and PC. This patch is used to use credits, item packs, and other free items.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak: the choice of versions and amiibo
If the Collector’s Edition isn’t already confirmed for France, the three new amiibo, yes. They will be based on Malzeno and will help you unlock special armor (Hunter, Chumsky and Palico) in the game.
France will host three editions:
- edition default : the extension only in dematerialized form
- edition deluxe : the expansion full of bonuses (armor, emotes and hairstyles)
- A Pack Monster Hunter Rise (Standard Edition) + Sunbreak in the digital and physical. Except on PC where there will be no boxed version. And on the switch, Sunbreak will of course also be in code form in physics
The story takes its course
The expansion continues after the Battle of Kamura ended vic torious. Your new mission is to mingle with the Knights of the Royal Order to avoid a potential disaster caused by the Three Lords. A group of monsters consisting of Garangolm, Lunagaron, and Malzeno.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak begins after Kamura Village’s heroic defense against Calamity in Monster Hunter Rise. News of the village’s survival inspires brave knight Lady Fiorayne to travel from the distant kingdom to seek help. Monster hunters brave enough to heed his call head to Elgado Outpost.
The threat to the kingdom is interwoven with terrifying creatures known as the Three Lords and inspired by classic western horror characters. This dangerous trio includes the brand new Garangolm, the fearsome fanged wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. In addition to these nightmarish new enemies, other variants of monsters and ancient creatures loved by fans in previous episodes, such as the Bishaten Orange and the mighty Astalos, will appear to challenge hunters in ranked difficulty quests.
Investigating the deeds of the Three Lords will lead adventurers across the kingdom to exciting new locations like the brand new Citadel. The latter consists of snow-capped peaks cascading over lush forests teeming with new endemic life forms. At the center of this vast region is a long-abandoned fortress that serves as a stronghold for the monsters it was designed to fend off.
