Previously, you could only use the pre-installed Steam OS or Windows 10 on the Steam Deck, but that is now changing.
You have not been able to use Windows 11 on Valve’s handheld so far because the Firmware Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) had not previously supported the new operating system.

However, the patch came with a new BIOS for the Steam Deck, which contains the security measures required by Microsoft for Windows 11.
Missing audio driver
Matching the update, there are also suitable drivers for graphics units, WLAN and Bluetooth. Only the audio drivers are still m issing, which is why there is still no sound output under Windows 11 on the Steam Deck unless you connect speakers or headphones via USB-C or Bluetooth.
Among other things, the BIOS update has also improved the stability of the handheld and ensures a longer battery life.
By the way, you can also use the Xbox Game Pass via the Edge browser and play some Microsoft games on the Steam Deck.
