As you know, Pokemon Go Fest 2022 will take place from June 4th to 5th, and today, Niantic Labs announced what to expect for the weekend.
if you play Pokemon Go, you will have the chance to meet the mythical Pokemon Shaymin during the event. The next day, a certain Pokemon will make its debut in 5-star Raids, and to help you catch it, you’ll be able to earn up to 9 Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Fest 2022:
Pokemon Go Fest 2022 – Day 1
On the first day, June 4th from 10am to 6pm local time, all trainers with or without event tickets will enjoy the following features. These features include four rotating habitat times, with a different Pokemon appearing each hour, and themed confetti appearing on the map.
In Pokemon Go, you’ll meet Shiny Shroomish, Shiny Numel, Shiny Karrablast, Shiny Axew, and Shiny Shelmet for the first time. Personally, we really want a shiny axe. Heck, we just want a regular. It never seems to hatch for us.
Habitats include cities, plains, rainforests, and tundra. The following Pokemon, many of which can glow, will appear more frequently in the wild in specific habitats.

If you don’t come across a costumed Pikachu and axe in the wild, they’ll both appear in a star raid.
For ticket holders, on June 4th, trainers will be tasked with conducting a special study related to the mythical Pokemon Shaymin. Through research, you will encounter Land Forme Shaymin and earn rewards such as event-exclusive avatar items and special avatar poses. Also, if you take up to five snaps during Saturday’s event time, you might find a surprise.
You will also be faced with making a decision through special research: you will choose between Easy, Standard and Master difficulty levels. The difficulty level you choose will affect the reward stickers you receive, but will not change your special research rewards.
Another option when it comes to how you like to play is to choose between Catch, Explore or Battle. Special rese arch assignments will change accordingly based on your selections.
In addition to the Pokemon per Habitat Hour, the following Pokemon will be drawn to Incense if you have event tickets – and some will glow:
- Cities – Galarian Weezing, Unown B, Unown G, Unown O, Unown U, Klink
- Plains – Unown B, Unown G, Unown O, Unown U, Torkoal, Axew
- Rainforest – Unown B, Unown G, Unown O, Unown U, Tropius, Pancham
- Tundra – Mr. Galarian Pantomime, Unknown B, Unknown G, Unknown O, Unknown U, Galarian Darumaka
For the first time in Pokemon Go, if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to meet Shiny Unown B, and you’ll be able to progress toward the Elite Collector’s Medal in four collection challenges after Habitat Hour.
Also, the Global Challenge Arena is back. If you have a ticket, you will complete hourly collaborative challenges with other trainers. If successful, you will receive your bonus within the remaining hour.
Finally on the first day, during event time, you will have more chances to encounter shiny Pokemon in the wild when using incense. Your chances will be better on Saturday than on Sunday.
Pokemon Go Fest 2022 – Day Two
On Sunday, June 5th from 10am to 6pm local time, everyone can enjoy Global Challenge Arena, a Pokemon making its debut in a 5-star raid, get a short special research story, Saturday Every Pokemon featured will reappear on Sunday at event time.
Once again, costumed Pikachu and the axe will appear in a star raid, and both have a chance to shine.
After completing the short special research stories available to all trainers, ticket holders will be able to participate in additional special research stories. When you’re done, you’ll be rewarded and connected with a special Pokemon. Also, if you take up to five snaps during Sunday’s event hours, you might find a surprise.
Every Pokémon drawn to Incense on Saturday will be drawn to Incense again on Sunday, Team Go Rocket’s balloons will appear more often, and beating Grunts will earn you double the Mystery Component.

Pokemon Go Fest 2022 tickets are now on sale for $14.99 or the equivalent in your area, including Saturday and Sunday’s event games. Each event day will offer a different experience, and tickets include entry to a special finale event on Saturday, August 27th. Standalone finale tickets will be available at a later date for $10.99 or the equivalent in your area.
Details about the finals have not yet been provided.
Some cities will also host in-person events on certain days this summer.
If you live in Berlin, Germany, the live event will take place July 1-3, those living in Seattle, Washington can spend a few days with others July 22-24, while those in Sapporo, Japan of people can join with others on August 5-7.
