By default, the screenshots we take with our Mac are saved on the desktop. An interesting location, especially since you have them on hand to crop, edit (yes, you have to be careful hiding the information from the captures, since there is a very simple trick to reveal the content), send, etc., but depending on the amount of captures we are going to do, it may not be optimal.
A few desktop screenshots, but the rest here
We can take lots of screenshots throughout the day, we can just do something, one-time, that causes us to take a lot. In any case surely the last thing we want is to end up with hundreds of screenshots on the desktop. Partly because it slows down our Mac, partly so we can organize ourselves better.
Luckily, our Mac’s screenshot feature allows us to choose where we want to save them. Doing it is very simple, here are the steps:
- Press Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + 5
- We click on Choice.
- low keep to we choose between Documents, Clipboard, To post, Posts, Insight or, if we want to choose the folder Another location.
In the latter case, choose Another location we will see a dialog to select any folder. We can choose Downloads, which is one of the few that does not sync with iCloud Drive, or any specific folder on our Mac.
The system will remember our choice until we change it again, so we can save as many captures as we want in the new folder. A way, in some cases, to maintain a little more order on our desks.
