Also this week there is a new free game in the Epic Games Store. And what a thing: You can get the excellent co-op shooter Borderlands 3 for free. The third part of the successful series scored a whopping 88 points in the GameStar test:
Borderlands 3 im Test
An (almost) perfect comeback
How long does the promotion run? You can get the free game for free between May 19th and May 26th, 2022 at 17:00. If you grab the title during this period, you can keep it permanently. An Epic account is required. The promotion only includes the base game.
As usual, we summarize what the new free game is all about and who should take a closer look.
That’s what Borderlands 3 is all about
Gearbox only released the third full-fledged part of the Borderlands series in 2019 to much fan cheering. Again, players meet old friends, have to face new dangers and get one in return humorous space western with lots of blue beans.
You shoot yourself with one almost endless selection of randomly generated weapons through hordes of enemies, uses the abilities of the four different characters (Siren, Operative, Gunner or Beastmaster) and fight your way through the funny campaign including side missions.
Endgame Content such as repeatable missions in different difficulty levels also ensure that you can still grind on your perfect build even after completing the story.
What distinguishes Borderlands 3 is clearly demonstrated in our test video:

Borderlands 3 – Test Video: Bombastic triumph with only one disappointment
Suitable for whom?
If you like shooting your way through virtual worlds as a solo player or together with up to three friends, Borderlands 3 is definitely a must. In addition to hearty action and the hunt for better and better prey, last but not least the black humor can ensure many (joint) laughs.

The comic graphics are stylishly implemented, as is typical for the series, but could definitely miss the taste of some players. But if you like the gameplay from our test video, we can recommend Borderlands 3 almost unreservedly.
What do you think of the current gift campaign? Have you played Borderlands 3 yet? Are you planning to make it up for the free promotion? Or is Borderlands just not your pair of cowboy boots?
